Balwin currently offers "Student Leadership" as an option to it's Junior High students. In leadership, students plan events, decide on initiatives, learn about building relationships and teams, and build communication and interpersonal skills.

D ynamic L.E.A.D.ers
The L.E.A.D. Recess Program is for students in grades 5 and 6. In this program, student L.E.A.D.ers develop emerging leadership skills. It allows student voice to foster good recess practices by encouraging unstructured play through positive role modeling. L.E.A.D.ers offer both indoor and outdoor recess ideas and plans. Through this program they are creating connectedness, a stronger school community and making recess more enjoyable for the students.
Kindergarten - Grade 4
Kids Helping Kids Club is a club focused on spreading kindness around our school and our community. It is focused on students in Kindergarten - Grade 4. Students work together to come up with ideas of how they can spread kindness around. We also fundraise for our kindness initiatives as well as we try to choose some organizations in our community that we can visit to see how they are spreading kindness and doing good in this world. Our Kids Helping Kids Club understands that kindness matters, and can change this world.
